Together Again

Stuart, now in his 30's, was living a relatively good life. He graduated from Oxford with good marks and went on to become a tax lawyer. Everything worked out except for his marriage. With the divorce finally behind him, Stuart found himself wondering what had become of the American girl he once fell in love with.

He laid on his bed with his hands behind his head, staring at the ceiling. Images of Guinevere flashed through his mind and he found himself smiling. He still missed her.

The kiss brought back all those feelings he kept hidden for years. He wrapped his arms around her, smiling against her lips.

"Let's not have life pull us apart again, Guin."

"What are you saying to me, Stuart?"

She smiled at him knowing his comment could be interpreted many ways. It was obvious neither one of them wanted to lose touch again, but they could stay in touch purely as old friends or...did he want to rekindle their past relationship? She hoped so, but wasn't going to assume one kiss meant he was in love with her again. That was the kind of cocky thing her teenage self would have presumed.

"I'm saying.. Let's give it another go. See if we still have that spark."

He had never really fallen out of love with her, so it'd be easy reviving what they had. Starting all over again.

Her smile grew at his words. She had missed him, and she was glad that he still thought of her as fondly as she did of him. She nodded slightly, knowing it would be similar yet different ten years later.

"I'd like that," she said. "If you could put up with all the trouble I got into back then, hopefully you can put up with me now!"

Of course, hopefully then she wouldn't be boring to him compared to all the fun and excitement they had when they were kids.

"I'll be more than happy to, Guin. I never stopped being in love with you."

They've both changed from their teenage years, so it'll be interesting seeing how well they fit together now.

"This feels like one of those romantic movies. A boy and girl separated for years. Then one day they meet again and the love is still there."

"It kind of does. You watch a lot of romantic movies, Stuart?"

She teased gently as they walked over to sit on her couch. She kicked off her heels, glad to have them out of the way.

"I missed you too. I always hated that we had to break up. I kind of had this idea of us getting a flat and starting a life together, but...you were happy here and I did not want to uproot your life. It was easier for me to leave."

It was always easier for her to leave.

"I've seen a few," he admitted. She'd see right through him if he tried to bluff anyway.

He got comfortable on the couch, resting his head on Guinevere's shoulder.

"It wasn't an easy decision.. I cried that night, which is rare. I really liked you but your life took you on a different path. And here we are now.. Starting over."

[aimlesswonder]

"I'm sorry for that." She reached down and squeezed his hand. "But I wasn't sure where I was going to go, or how long I'd be gone. And I knew you'd never leave here. I was right about that."

They'd already have a long-distance relationship with her living in London, but at least that was only two hours away. More than easy enough to drive.

"I never forgot you."

"It's alright, Guin. You went out there and did amazing things."

He looked at their hands with a smile, returning the gentle squeeze. It wouldn't be too hard keeping up a long-distance relationship as he'd be driving up to London for business a few times anyway.

"I never forgot you either. You were in my thoughts a lot."

[aimlesswonder]

"Likewise. You're a hard man not to recall, Stuart."

She smiled back at him. He definitely had a personality all his own and they had made a lot of memories together; those would always stick with her. Now they had the chance to make even more. She paused then and leaned in to kiss him again, not sure where the night would take them.

He cupped her cheek, returning the kiss. The more their lips moved together the more he found himself wanting her, just like when they were younger. They were both different now and more mature. He was curious to see what making love to her would be like after all this time apart.

"I want you, Guin."

[aimlesswonder]

Hearing him say those words to her made her physically shiver. It had been one thing to hear that as a teenager, but now to hear that from him as a man made it sound even more arousing. She pulled back just enough to nod in agreement.

"Let me show you the bedroom," she said, standing to do just that, "and you can help me out of this dress."

"Lead the way."

Guinevere never failed to mesmerize him, even more so now as a grown woman. She truly was a beautiful lady like her namesake.

He stood up to follow her, admiring her as he walked.

"It's not far, Stuart, it's a hotel room!"

She laughed, still able to banter with him now. Walking the short distance into the bedroom and turning round to face him again. Which one of them would make the first move this time?

"Just being a smartass."

He laughed too. Another thing he missed about them was the banter and the teasing, along with the smartass jokes.

He stepped closer to reach behind her and pull down the zipper, his eyes fixed on hers.

"Apparently that's one thing about you that hasn't changed either."

She chuckled, letting him unzip her dress. Hopefully he wouldn't mind that she wasn't wearing anything sexy underneath. She hadn't intended on having sex with him, but it probably shouldn't have been a surprise. Even as her hands reached up and tugged at the knot in his tie.

"You know this could have some uses..."

"The one thing I took with me from the Sheffield days."

He gently pushed the dress down her shoulders and off, revealing more of her for him to admire. A smirk appeared at her suggestion.

"You're still as naughty as I remember. I always did like that about you, baby."

He leaned in to kiss her shoulder, hugging her closer to his body.

She stepped out of the dress and finished undoing his tie, tossing it onto the bed where they could find it later. Backing them both toward the bed while she pushed his jacket off.

"I told you I'd try to keep your life interesting," she said. "I should uphold that promise if we're going to start seeing each other again."

"I have no doubt that you'll succeed. You've already left a mark on me.. Conquering my thoughts while we were apart."

He followed her to the bed, laying her down and looking at her for a moment before leaning in to kiss her.

"You really thought about me that much?"

Said with a pleasant surprise as she leaned up to kiss him. Her fingers running through his hair before her hands slid down to unbutton his shirt. She wasn't going to rush, now that they could savor this as adults. Learn each other all over again, just in her hotel room instead of her dorm room.

The night was already different from their younger days. No rush, just two adults getting to know each other all over again.

"I can't deny. We had quite a teenage adventure together."

He ran his fingers slowly down her arm and stomach.

[aimlesswonder]

"We certainly did. And managed to stay out of trouble, too, which was a surprise."

Given how often she had snuck him out of her dorm room after letting him stay over for the night. She relaxed under him, helping him get his shirt off and then just enjoying his touch.

"Now I don't have to sneak you out in the morning."

"We were smart kids."

They never got caught while she snuck him out of her room, which indeed was a surprise. The teachers weren't as attentive as they wanted to seem.

"We can do whatever we want, Guin. All grown up now."

He continued kissing her, lips brushing against her neck and down to her chest.

"You say that like there's something you want to do, Stuart."

She smiled, her hands learning every bit of his chest and stomach. He had put on more muscle since they were kids and she thought he had a very impressive body for a lawyer. As he enjoyed her skin she played her hands down his sides, feeling him out and enjoying the sensation.

"We've got a lot of catching up to do.. Much more experience with age."

He returned the smile, kissing her breasts lovingly. Those gained muscles were the result of some frequent exercise. Stuart liked keeping himself in shape even if his job didn't really require it.

"I want to learn you all over again, baby. Do something we didn't do back then."
